IGIRE Rwanda Organization is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth and women through education, skills development, and access to employment opportunities. Our programs focus on technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership development, emphasizing empowering young women through initiatives like SheCanCode Bootcamp and Academy for Women Entrepreneurship (AWE).
Job Summary:
The Programs Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of IGIRE Rwanda Organization’s key programs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission of equipping young people, especially women, with skills for employment and entrepreneurship. This role involves program development, managing partnerships, and ensuring successful outcomes for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Management and Leadership:
- Lead the planning and execution of programs, including SheCanCODE Bootcamp, AWE, and other youth empowerment initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day program activities, ensuring timelines, goals, and quality standards are met.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Establish clear objectives, deliverables, and success metrics for all programs.
- Monitor program schedules and milestones, adjusting as needed to ensure timely delivery.
2. Team Management:
- Supervise program staff, interns, and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment that aligns with IGIRE’s values.
- Design individual work plans based on project requirements and team member expertise.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with partners, donors, and stakeholders to ensure strong collaboration for program success.
- Represent IGIRE Rwanda in various forums, including networking events, partner meetings, and conferences.
- Collaborate with partners to support graduates in accessing employment opportunities.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program progress and outcomes.
- Prepare and present reports to the Executive Director, funders, and other stakeholders on program status, impact, and lessons learned.
- Use data to drive continuous improvement and decision-making for program growth.
5. Resource Mobilization:
- Identify funding opportunities and work with the Executive Director to develop proposals for program funding.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, preparing timely and accurate reports on the use of funds.
6. Communications and Advocacy:
- Work with the communications team to develop program-specific promotional materials and success stories.
- Advocate for youth and women's empowerment through strategic partnerships and media engagements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Project Management certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in non-profit or development sectors.
- Proven experience managing youth development programs, particularly in technology and/or entrepreneurship fields.
- Experience using project management tools such as Asana, Trello, and Kanban boards.
- Strong partnership management skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Ability to adapt, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Budget Variance: Maintain budget variance within 5% of the approved budget.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Achieve above 85% satisfaction rate from stakeholders, as measured through surveys.
- Risk Management Effectiveness: Ensure that 90% of identified risks have documented mitigation plans and are monitored.
- Project Completion Rate: Achieve 100% on-time completion of program projects within the established timeline.
- Cost Performance Index (CPI): Maintain a CPI of 1.0 or greater, indicating cost-efficient project management.
- Employee Churn Rate: Keep employee turnover below 10% per annum.
- Net Promoter Score (NPS): Maintain an NPS of 70 or above, reflecting positive program feedback from participants.
